The exaggerated moans of the zombies play off the more whimsical sounds of your menagerie of plants while a catchy soundtrack tune plays in the background. The sound design is just as vibrant as the visuals. The graphics are vibrant and cartoony, with each plant and enemy type sporting a unique visual style that makes them easy to spot even on a crowded screen. Zombies stand out is the colorful and distinctive game design. Take down zombies in styleĪ major part of what makes Plants vs. You'll have to stay on your toes if you hope to stay alive. The game even includes a day-night cycle, with different plants and enemies available during each time of day. ![]() The zombies you'll be taking on come in all shapes and sizes, and you'll need to learn how best to defend against the different enemy types. You can also access unique and destructive variations like the Cherry Bomb, which will explode and take out zombies in multiple lanes.īe warned, however: you're not the only one with an arsenal at your disposal. ![]() The Peashooter, for example, acts as a standard turret. Zombies grants you access to a menagerie full of lethal plants, each with unique properties. To help keep the zombies at bay, Plants vs. Though the first level introduces the concept slowly, later levels become a true test of skill as you monitor the massive hordes of zombies in each lane. ![]() This simple gameplay change makes for a challenging and hectic experience. There is already a modding community for the project, so you can expect the app to become much crazier as time goes on.You'll need to place a separate set of defenses on each lane, constantly staying aware of what's coming for you in each sector. It’s definitely a fun little experiment, and one that has quickly garnered a lot of attention from fans. Be careful with your mouse cursor, too, as the goose has a tendency to yank it away from you. You can put in whatever content you like, such as GIFs, images, memes, and so on, creating your own personalize chaos that you might like to send to a friend. The virtual nuisance will also grab objects and move them around the screen, most of which are goose-related memes.ĭesktop Goose is a customizable experience, as well, allowing you to have control over what the Goose trashes your desktop with. It will spread mud across screen as it pitter-patters around, honking incessantly. The Goose wanders your desktop screen, wreaking havoc. While those things were tremendously dangerous to install, filled with all kinds of malware, the Goose just wants to ruin your day and disrupt any plans you may for being productive. The app is simply called Desktop Goose, and can be downloaded from Chiet’s page on itch.io. You know, the weird purple ape guy BonziBuddy, or the definitely-NSFW desktop “models” that seemed to be in every ad on the internet. It’s kind of like one of those virus-ridden desktop pals from back in the day. The now-famous Goose’s antics inspired an 18-year-old coder by the name of Sam Chiet to pose the question, “what if this Goose ran amok on people’s computers?” Literally nobody wanted it, but it looks like we got in anyway.Ĭhiet’s new Windows 10 app brings the Goose and all of its mayhem to your desktop. It’s won a bunch of awards and been the source of many great memes in the few months that the game has been available. Developer House House released Untitled Goose Game in September 2019, and the game has been a massive hit for the company. Luckily, their mischievous natures made one heck of a great video game this past year. Anybody who has visited a zoo as a kid, or managed to accidentally cross one in the wild, is no doubt aware of this. ![]()
